Soconomar has been established in Genova in 1951. During the first 20 years the main activity was raw materials import (iron and manganese ores, rock phosphate, chemical fertilizers, tar distillation derivatives, etc…) for steel and chemical industries.

A sea brokerage service was added to this activity, mainly for our raw materials customers.

Since the early seventies, imports were progressively extended to resins, pigments, wax emulsions, different additives and masterbatches mainly addressed to paints, varnishes, inks, adhesives and plastics producers.

The wideness and fragmentation of the application fields drove the company to create a widespread sales network, based also on several regional agents.

Since the beginning Soconomar SPA belongs to the De Michelis family, today at the third generation in managing the company.
